To coincide with the start of the new Football season, the college Library have purchased The Future Game, The Future Game – Grassroots books and The Future Game – 3D Animations DVD. First published in 2010, the three resources are perfect for students and staff involved at all levels of the ‘beautiful game’.

The Future Game is a brand new blueprint for the overall future of football in this country. Included in the 275 page guide is The FA’s playing and coaching philosophy and guidelines for player development in age specific sections with over a 100 practice sessions. The Future Game has been worked up collaboratively with expert coaches from the professional game.
The Future Game – Grassroots is the essential guide for coaches working with young players in the grass roots game. Aiming to develop their experience, capture imagination and ignite enthusiasm, this book is packed with expert research into young players and advice on creating a positive learning environment.
The boxset contains:
A guide to The FA’s playing and coaching philosophy
A guide to age-appropriate practices with coaching session plans.
An engaging DVD
Lastly, The Future Game – 3D Animations DVD is a coaching animation tool created by the FA Licensed Coaches’ Club in partnership with TactX, to animate the practice syllabus from The Future Game. Over 100 age-appropriate practice sessions are included, each with downloadable practice progressions and key coaching points along with session plans that can also be transferred to other devices.

The college library has just enabled access to two amazing e-resources: Primal Pictures & SafetyCare Montie.
Primal Pictures: Anatomy & Physiology Online is an interactive digital learning tool that comprises 19 fully interactive body-system modules. It includes interactive 3D models, narrated animations and illustrations, pronunciation guides, dissection slides, and other multimedia; as well as more than 250 clinical topics and case studies. It will be of use to anyone studying biology, health and care, sport and complementary therapies.
SafetyCare Montie is a large collection of training videos primarily for engineering and construction environments, and at some degree – for beauty specialists.
